This New Zealand native plant is known as Coprosma kirkii ‘Variegata’. Growing low to the ground, this woody groundcover reaches an average mature landscape size of 1-2′ tall by 4-5′ wide. Its rounded foliage is light green with cream margins that grows vigorously, spreading quickly to fill out the area. While insignificant, during the spring tiny white flowers bloom. Commonly known as Variegated Creeping Mirror Bush, this variety is cold hardy to temperatures as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit and is considered to be a low maintenance plant variety flourishing especially well in coastal landscapes.

Care And Planting Instructions

Plant Variegated Creeping Mirror Bush in an area that receives full sun to partial shade using well draining soil. When planted in full sun, the foliage has been noted to grow in brighter shades of green. Water regularly after planting to help it establish well to its new location, then reduce frequency. While regular pruning isn’t required, to cut back size prune back growth during late winter to early spring.
