About Double Knock Out® Rose – Red & Pink
This bright and inviting rose bush is called Double Knock Out® Rose. Offering a sweet smelling scent, this rose variety is a prolific bloomer with a dense and bushy growth habit that reaches an average mature landscape size of 3-4 feet high with a 3-4 feet spread. Its glossy purplish‑green foliage shaped in an ovate form with serrated margins provides a lush backdrop for its vibrant flowers. Its blooms in contrast are bushy and come in cherry red or hot pink colors with yellow centers throughout the spring and fall seasons.
Origin And Landscape Adaptability
Part of the Knock Out® family of roses, this variety was introduced to the market by breeder Will Radler. Tolerant to light frost, disease resistant, drought-tolerant and self-cleaning, this variety requires minimal attention.
Care And Planting Instructions
Plant Double Knock Out® Rose in an area that receives at least six hours of sun exposure using well-draining soil. Water regularly after planting to help it establish well to its new location. Reduce frequency after the first few growing seasons and use a general fertilizer in the early spring. Prune back in late winter or early spring to control its shape or size and if desired, deadhead spent blooms for a cleaned up appearance.
Landscape Design Ideas
Plant Double Knock Out® Rose bush as the foreground to a garden trellis or plant in multiples to frame windows of a residential property. It can be planted almost anywhere in cottage style gardens to fill empty spaces or to frame a walkway.
