About Echeveria elegans (Mexican Snowball)

This beautiful compact succulent is called Echeveria elegans. Commonly known as Mexican Snowball, this variety draws attention for its interesting look with its blue-green foliage tightly spiralled into a rosette.  It grows quickly reaching an average mature landscape size of 8-12″ tall by 8-12″ wide and can asexually produce offsets further filling out a container or planter bed. During the spring and summer seasons, delicate pink flowers shoot out above its foliage atop long stems attracting local pollinators.

Care And Planting Instructions

Plant Mexican Snowball in an area that receives full to partial sun exposure and planting using well draining soil. This succulent does not tolerate soggy soils. Water regularly after planting, but when established reduce frequency.  If grown indoors, make sure that it receives full sun exposure. Once established, this succulent is drought tolerant.

Echeveria elegans can be planted either in containers or in a planter bed. Use as a border along a pathway or plant in multiples and use it as a groundcover.
