This self-clinging vine is called Macfadyena unguis-cati. Commonly called Cat’s Claw, this fast growing vine is prized for its vigorous show of flowers throughout the spring season. The flowers are a big attractor to hummingbirds that visit regularly to feast on their nectar. As a semi-evergreen plant, this vine loses its leaves for a short period during the winter months. The mature size of this vine can reach 20-25′ feet long.
This plant is also known under a second botanical name, Dolichandra unguis-cati.
