About Perovskia atriplicifolia (Russian Sage)
Perovskia atriplicifolia is a deciduous perennial attractive to local pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Its feather-like, light green leaves fill out thin stems of this multi-trunk sub-shrub. Its lavender colored flowers grow along tall spires that shoot upright just above its foliage. Blooming throughout the summer season and often into the fall, these flowers emit a sage-like lavender scent. Growing at a moderate rate, this plant reaches an average mature landscape size of 2-3′ wide by 3-5′ tall. Once established, Russian Sage is highly tolerant to neglect, winter hardy to 0 degrees Fahrenheit as well as drought tolerant.
