About Rudbeckia ‘Glitters Like Gold’ (Black Eyed Susan)

Rudbeckia ‘Glitters Like Gold’ is an herbaceous perennial recognized for its showy, daisy-like blooms. With a late summer blooming period, spectacular yellow petaled flowers emerge repeatedly from July through September. Its delicate petals circle around dark gum drop shaped centers and are accompanied by densely packed, green foliage.  Reaching an average mature landscape size of 2-3′ tall by 1-2′ wide, Rudbeckia grows quickly once established. Commonly known as Black Eyed Susan, this variety is also drought tolerant once established and can be used to cut fresh flowers for floral arrangements.

Care And Planting Instructions

Plant Black Eyed Susan in an area that receives full sun exposure using well-draining soil. Water regularly after planting to help it establish well to its new location, then reduce frequency. This variety does not tolerate soggy roots so be sure to let its soil dry out completely before waterings. To encourage blooming and keep a cleaned up appearance, deadhead spent blooms.
