This evergreen perennial is called Agapanthus ‘Tinkerbell’ or, more commonly, Blue Lily-of-the Nile. Easily recognized by its firework-like blue blooms perched on long stalks that reach out above its variegated foliage with repeat blooming throughout the spring and summer seasons. Accompanied by sword-like foliage, this plant reaches an average landscape size of 1-2′ by 1-2′. Withstanding temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, the Blue Lily-of-the Nile can also withstand seaside conditions.

Planting and care instructions

Plant Agapanthus ‘Tinkerbell’ in an area that receives full sun to part shade using well-draining soil. Water regularly to keep the soil moist and increase watering during periods of extreme heat. Although this variety is not considered drought-tolerant, it can, however, withstand occasional drought-like conditions. To keep up a clean appearance and encourage growth, deadhead spent blooms.
