This beautiful repeat bloomer is called Hemerocallis ‘Russian Rhapsody’. With a blooming season lasting from spring through fall, you can expect star-shaped purple flowers with yellow stamens throughout most of the year. As a low grower reaching an average landscape size of 2-3′ x 2-3′, this variety offers interesting blooms that are accompanied by shoots of grass-like foliage. Commonly known as Purple Daylily, this variety is a great filler in almost any landscape design.

Plant Purple Daylily in an area that receives full to partial sun. With more sunlight, this variety’s flowers will turn a light purple while with more shade, its flowers will turn a more vibrant purple. For optimal plant growth, regular watering is required when the top 2 inches of the soil dry out. While well-draining soil is suggested, this variety is low maintenance and can withstand most soil conditions, some occasional neglect, seaside conditions as well as extreme cold fronts.
