You may recognize this plant by its foliage shape but it is actually called Nandina domestica ‘Lemon-Lime’™. As part of the Sunset Western Garden Collection, the Nandina domestica ‘Lemon-Lime’™ PP24749 has the signature Nandina lacy green foliage but without the red fall coloring. Its bright lime-green leaves are held up by narrow branches that grow in a rounded bush form. Its average landscape size reaches 3-4′ high by 3-4’ wide and as an evergreen plant you can expect this beautiful green, chartreuse color all year-long.

Care Instructions

Plant Nandina domestica ‘Lemon-Lime’™ in average well-drained soil in an area with full sun to partial shade. In the 3 gallon size we stock, you get the benefit of a plant comparable in size to a 5 gallon without the extra work of digging and preparing a bigger hole. Water deeply and regularly once planted to establish the root-system then reduce watering unless during periods of extreme heat. Each Spring a slow release fertilizer is recommended in addition to light pruning, trimming off 1/3 of its height to encourage new growth.

Where to Plant

Known to be deer-resistant, consider planting the Nandina domestica ‘Lemon-Lime’ ™ as a border to discourage animals from dining in the rest of your landscape area. It also shows well as mass plantings, on a hillside or street median.This plant is also great as an accent or even in a container.  Its beautiful lime-green color adds a diverse interest against an otherwise dark green landscape.
