About Echeveria agavoides (Wax Agave)

This rosette shaped succulent is called Echeveria agavoides. A Mexican native plant, this variety comes from the Crassulaceae family and features fleshy apple-green leaves with reddish margins. While generally appearing this way, its leaves have also been noted to grow entirely green or entirely pink with reddish margins. During the spring and summer seasons, flower cymes emerge reaching up to 1′ tall. Atop the stems, there are groups of delicate urn shaped pink flowers with yellow tips. Growing an average mature landscape size of 1′ wide by 6-12″ tall, this species grows at a fast rate. Considered a low maintenance plant, Wax Agave is winter hardy to temperatures as low as 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit and has low water needs.

Care And Planting Instructions

Plant Echeveria agavoides in an area that receives full sun or partial shade as it can flourish well in either conditions. Using well-draining soil, water regularly after planting then reduce frequency to rarely. When planting in multiples, be sure to leave enough space for its full landscape size or plant individually in containers.
